Universal Control
What This Does
Use your Mac keyboard and trackpad to control the iPad.
Why It's Useful
One keyboard and one trackpad can drive both devices. You stop reaching for the iPad screen every time you need to tap something.
How to Do It
- Place the iPad near your Mac
- Make sure both devices use the same Apple Account
- On the Mac, open System Settings → Displays
- Click Advanced
- Enable pointer and keyboard sharing with nearby devices
- Move the Mac pointer off the edge of the screen toward the iPad
Try This Now
Push the Mac pointer onto the iPad, then type a short message in Notes using the Mac keyboard. Confirm the text appears on the iPad.
Mental Hook: Two devices, one pointer.
