Sidecar: Extend Desktop
What This Does
Turn your iPad into an extended desktop for your Mac.
Why It's Useful
Extra screen space means less window juggling. Keep reference material, chat, or tools on the iPad while your main project stays on the Mac.
How to Do It
- On the Mac, open Control Center from the menu bar
- Click Screen Mirroring
- Select your iPad
- Open System Settings → Displays if needed
- Set the iPad to 'Extended Display' instead of mirror
- Drag Mac windows onto the iPad screen
Try This Now
Open Safari on your Mac and a notes app window. Drag the notes window onto the iPad screen. Confirm you can type on the iPad while Safari stays on the Mac.
Mental Hook: Your iPad becomes extra screen space.
