Keyboard Trackpad Mode
What This Does
Turns the on-screen keyboard into a trackpad so you can move the text cursor with precision.
Why It's Useful
Tapping to place a cursor between two letters is frustrating on a touchscreen. Trackpad mode lets you slide the cursor exactly where you need it — into the middle of a word, between sentences, or to a specific line.
How to Do It
- Tap in a text field to bring up the on-screen keyboard
- Press and hold the space bar
- When the keys dim, slide your finger to move the cursor
- Release when the cursor is where you want it
Try This Now
Open Notes, type a long sentence, then press and hold the space bar. Slide your finger to place the cursor in the middle of a word and insert a missing letter.
Mental Hook: Hold space, aim cursor.
