What This Does

Annotate PDFs and images from your Mac using the iPad.

Why It's Useful

Marking up with Apple Pencil on the iPad is faster and more precise than using a mouse on the Mac.

How to Do It

  1. On the Mac, open a PDF or image
  2. Click the Markup button
  3. Choose the iPad as the markup device if prompted
  4. Use your finger or Apple Pencil on the iPad
  5. Click Done to save the changes back on the Mac

Try This Now

Open a PDF in Preview on the Mac, start Markup on the iPad, draw a circle, and confirm it appears on the Mac file.
