Split Panes

How

Press Command + D to split the window vertically
Click in either pane to focus it
Press Command + Shift + D to close the split pane

Try this

Split your window with Command + D, then run ping -c 5 google.com in the left pane. While it runs, use the right pane to check your current directory with pwd.
