🥋 Keyboard Dojo: Practice
Run focused drills that build shortcut muscle memory for system navigation, text editing, browsers, and creative tools.
Warm-up flow
Cycle through these reps for five minutes:
- Switch apps, launch Spotlight, and open a file without touching the trackpad.
- Snap between desktops/spaces, then return to the active app.
- Capture a screenshot to clipboard, paste, and undo.
Text editing circuit
Use only the keyboard to perform each move in order.
- Jump by word, select by word, then delete the selection safely.
- Move to start/end of line and document, insert a new line above, then below.
- Copy a line, duplicate it, and move it up/down.
Move faster without leaving home row. Practice selections, duplications, and navigation until they feel automatic.
Browser rhythm
- Open a new tab, focus the address bar, and search.
- Jump between the first, last, and recent tabs.
- Close a tab, reopen it, then move it left/right.
Repeat with your primary browser and one secondary browser to keep muscle memory consistent.
Creative app cross-training
Pick any creative tool (Logic, Final Cut, Figma, Photoshop) and practice:
- Play/pause or run/stop, split/cut, undo, redo.
- Zoom in/out, fit to screen, toggle panels.
- Set and jump to markers or regions.
Save a short macro or note for any move that still feels clumsy. Revisit that move three times a day this week.
