What This Does

Each Chrome Profile can be opened as its own app shortcut with a distinct icon on Windows, macOS, or Linux.

Why It's Useful

Hunting through Chrome's profile picker adds friction. Shortcuts make the right identity the path of least resistance.

How to Do It

  1. Open Chrome with the profile you want
  2. Chrome menu → More tools → Create shortcut (or Profile → Create shortcut on some versions)
  3. Check Open as window for an app-like experience
  4. Drag the shortcut to your dock or taskbar
