What This Does
Google Account security lives at myaccount.google.com/security. Two-step verification (2SV) requires your phone or a security key in addition to your password.
Why It's Useful
Your Google account is the keys to email, files, photos, and often password recovery for everything else. A breached account is a career emergency.
How to Do It
- Go to myaccount.google.com/security
- Turn on 2-Step Verification and add your phone or a hardware key
- Review Recent security activity for unfamiliar sign-ins
- Save backup codes in a password manager in case you lose your phone
